Reviewed 10-31-2001 An excellent read! Couldn't put it down!
It has been "open season" on men, fathers, husbands for the past 30 years. In America, where we believe we are entitled to Civil Rights and Due Process, men are standing helpless before judges and courts facing the complete destruction of their family, marriage, finances, business, occupation, profession, and social standing in the community; unable to defend themselves!
In Elusive Innocence, Dean Tong frames the issues succinctly and clearly. There is "something for everybody" here:
When one finds himself falsely accused, he quickly learns who his friends are (if any). He also learns of the absolute DEARTH of resources and help available to him, not the least of which is an ATTORNEY who is capable of defending him in this arena of insanity. Dean Tong details the kind of specialized expertise your attorney MUST have in order to defend you. The Appendices are absolutely priceless in helping develop a defense. This book can save you tens of thousands of dollar$, and prevent your children from growing up in a virtual insane asylum. An irreplaceable compendium of the DETAILS of how the case is built against the accused and how to mount an effective defense. This book contains deep detail of the psychological testing and other tests, and how to use them in your defense! Absolutely no man, husband, father should be unaware and unprepared for the monstrous potential devastation of his family, marriage, finances, business, occupation, profession, and social standing in the community by Just One Single Anonymous Accusation. Innocence is not a defense. It's Elusive in this new age. Every man, young or old, married, single, doctor, lawyer, or even celibate cleric needs to read this extremely well researched and heavily documented book Until the laws are changed, it is Open Season on parents (and men especially). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book as an excellent manual on self protection and defense. Be prepared for YOUR TURN to be falsely accused. A copy of this book should be placed into the hands of anybody who finds himself falsely accused in these kinds of cases. Having been through both a nasty divorce and a false allegation of child abuse (not at the same time in my case, thank God), I can honestly say that if I had the benefit of the good advice in Dean Tong's Elusive Innocence, I would have fared MUCH BETTER in those cases If I Had Known How.
