Subject: Pamela Gaston's work continues

I just learned about our loss of Pamela the other day and have been very sick myself. She and I were the same age. It's very hard to believe she's gone.

Pamela Gaston was a mother and artist, family rights activist and, along with Will, a powerful voice for children abused or exploited by the State.

She was my mentor and friend. We did not agree on all things, but it was always Pamela who said "let's not polarize around these issues" and we stayed focused on what we agreed on: protecting children and families from state intervention, and exposing and holding accountable those responsible for the destruction of so many futures.

Pam and Will were two of my first guests on the MotherInterrupted Show, and I want to do a memorial using clips from this, and other footage of Pamela.

Leonard, you got the colors right for Pamela. She never said an unkind word about you (except for your use of red on the Web pages :-)

Pamela was a voice for children--and a voice for all of us who are voices for children. I will carry on in her name.

Susan
