The Coming New Dark Age ~or~ Back to the Cave Man

"Civilization is not inherited; it has to be learned and earned by each generation anew; if the transmission should be interrupted for one century, civilization would die, and we should be savages again". -Will and Ariel Durant

"Theoretically a society could be completely made over in something like 15 years, the time it takes to inculcate a new culture into a rising crop of youngsters. "- SPECIAL COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE TAX-EXEMPT FOUNDATIONS, 83RD CONGRESS, 1954

"Cataclysmic changes in our elite culture, especially at our top-tier universities, have filtered down to our schools to cause the erosion of civic education that we have seen over the last three decades. We have not yet seen all the pernicious ripples caused by the great splash of multiculturalism, authoritarian utopianism, and cultural and moral relativism -- ideas that are antithetical to civic education, which historically has been national, realistic, and in some sense tragic in its acceptance of man’s imperfections, rather than therapeutic in its promise to ameliorate all human woes with enough money, education -- and coercion. These privileged concepts, spawned in our universities and spread by our elite media, our courts, and our politicians, finally have become the assumptions of our public schools, leaving us with the Balkan idea of a racial, cultural, and ideological mosaic rather than a confident American melting pot of shared values." --Victor Davis Hanson

Every year, in late May or early June, a new crop of "young adults" are graduated from High School.  "Pomp and Circumstance" is played by the underclass band as this year's graduating class toe-drags the traditional march.  Dressed in the scholarly garb complete with the flat square hats and dangling tassel properly positioned, our "scholars" shuffle to the stage to listen to the boring speeches and the scholarship awards.  The honors students receive their $50,000 grant from major universities.  A few are entering the military for the "educational benefits".  And a few are "going to work".

Then the diplomas are distributed to each kid with a handshake and out the door they go.

These are the few kids who "made it through".  The majority already dropped out.

So what's the difference?  High School graduate or drop outs, they are competing for the SAME JOBS in our "service industry" job market.

"Oh REALLY!!", you might say incredulously.  Yes, really.  Who asks to see your High School diploma in a job interview?  Nobody cares.  It's a piece of paper that means absolutely NOTHING.

If you are going to participate in CIVILIZATION, it does matter if you can read and write.  It does matter if you can add and subtract.  It is quite helpful if you can multiply and divide.  Being able to type is a plus.  For some jobs, being able to spell can be handy.  But a high school diploma is not a certification that you can competently perform any of these tasks.

What do the boys KNOW?

  • Do they know how to buckle down and WORK?
  • Do they know how to stick with a task?
  • Do they know how to DO A GOOD JOB at whatever they are doing?
  • Do they know how to BUILD or FIX anything?  How anything works?
  • Do they know how to LEARN new skills as needed?
  • Do they know how to grow a garden? Prepare meat? Build Shelter?
  • Do they know how to be a MAN?

No, they know about being "cool" and how to avoid work and responsibility at all costs.

What do the girls KNOW?

  • Do they know how to be a HOME-MAKER?
  • Do they know how to COOK?
  • Do they know how to care for a BABY?
  • Do they know how to prepare food for STORAGE?
  • Do they know how to be a WOMAN?

No, they know about being "cute and sexy" and show off their belly button.

Today's average kid knows less (basic survival & food gathering skills) than an English Serf did in 1200 AD.  Everybody is in touch with their "feelings" and self-esteem.  Knowing nothing and in touch with your instincts-  Cave men.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free...it expects what never was and never will be." -- Thomas Jefferson

So why are the basic features of "being educated" prominently absent in today's high school graduate?

What has been happening in our schools is no accident.  We are the victims of a deliberate conspiracy to DUMB DOWN AMERICA.  It has never been a secret.  It has been done before our eyes with full knowledge of what they are doing.  It was done while parents, politicians, and educators have SCREAMED about it.  But the conspiracy inexorably plodded along unabated like a machine with nobody at the controls, while Americans were distracted in a 40-year frat party and orgy.

"The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.... How is it possible that children can have any just sense of the sacred obligations of morality or religion if, from their earliest infancy, they learn their mothers live in habitual infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in as constant infidelity to their mothers?" --John Adams

There's plenty of these "machines out of control" now-

  • the education machine "nobody can control";
  • the bureaucratic machine "nobody can control";
  • the judicial machine "nobody can control";
  • the political machine "nobody can control";
  • the Police State that "nobody can control";

"When the people no longer read or understand their Constitution is when they will live in a Police State." --Robert Wangrud.

The proponents of John Dewey's Progressive Education system proudly called themselves "Change Agents".  The proponents of Social Work call themselves "Change Agents" as well.

Being an old fashioned kind of American guy who didn't buy into New Age Post-Modernism, the obvious question to me has always been:

What was wrong with the American way of life that we needed to "progress" AWAY FROM or CHANGE?

Social Democracy, Communism, National Socialism as systems of government have a historical failure rate of 100%. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't "give it a try" here in the good 'ole USA!  Let's have a Social Experiment!

  • So what if the America founded in 1776 produced the most wonderful and successful Constitutional Republic in the history of the world?

  • So what if we had a nation of thrifty, hard working, morally upstanding people?

  • So what if we had the highest literacy rate in the world?

  • So what if we produced some of the greatest scientists and technological advances in history?

  • So what if we produced the best economic system in history?

America became great because America was good.  So perhaps America won't be such a problem to a World Government if it ceased to be GOOD.

I grew up during the Cold War.  A war of buying war technology from ourselves.  We were AGHAST when we first heard about a TRILLION dollar National Debt.  But the economy kept grinding along between recessions (that nobody in the bureaucracy had the guts to call Depressions).  As long as only a third of the people lost EVERYTHING, it didn't really matter.  Let's just call it "redistribution of wealth".  Kind of catchy, isn't it?

We "won" the Cold War:  Russia went bankrupt before we did.  A full communist system could not out-spend our hybrid socialist-capitalist system.  Our people are still laboring under the illusion that they can profit from their hard work.

"None Are So Hopelessly Enslaved As Those Who Falsely Believe They Are Free." - Johann W. Goethe

The fully-implemented communist system cannot offer the illusion of personal profit as a motivator.  Idealism and "national pride" can only work short-term.

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs" isn't very conducive to those who have abilities.

When you work your entire life paying into a system that really plans to EUTHANIZE you when you get old, sick, and needy, it sure takes the "warm fuzzies" out of the plan.

What do you think the "Right to Die" clause in the Humanist Manifesto II is about?  What do you think Oregon's "Physician Assisted Suicide" law REALLY means?  Come to Oregon and try out our health clinics, if you don't believe me.

The point of this essay is to somehow point out that the plan to take America down is NOT by external attack.  The plan was, and is, to take America down by EDUCATING the kids to be everything America was never designed to be.

Our kids have been EDUCATED to be politically-correct, immoral, self-centered ANIMALS WITH NO CONSCIENCE to hand America over to a World Government and FEEL proud of themselves for doing so.

If you don't like it, the Social Workers come make your life a living hell and probably put you in prison. Or they can put you in "therapy" and give you drugs so you will feel better about your loss of liberty.

"We're captive to this culture of relativism. There's no truth, so who are we to impose our values on anyone else? All anybody can do -- like a business school teacher -- is help people think through problems and arrive at their own conclusions while telling them that no conclusion is any better than any other -- a formula for disaster. This is what modern worldviews teach. But what happens when you allow people to arrive at their own moral conclusions? They do what is right in their own eyes, and we end up with the likes of Enron and WorldCom." --Charles Colson

America was created to be a place for people to be totally free.  LIBERTY.  America was created for hard-working, self-sufficient, moral, SELF-GOVERNING people.  America was created for a people who believe in God.  America was created for a people who would DO THE RIGHT THING based upon a sound knowledge of Right and Wrong.  America was created for a people who know they have to answer for their entire lives before God.  Such a people DO NOT NEED a library full of coercive laws to regulate every facet of their lives.

As it turns out, the "Social Experiment" was never an experiment. It was sabotage, subterfuge, and subversion.  It is treason.  The American way of life has been under organized attack since at least 1933.  The intent and goals of the enemies of America were made crystal clear in 1973.  The process is complete when the subversives outnumber those who would be free.  The "democratic process" is complete when the "majority" removes the last pretense of American Liberty.

The American public school is the creator of the New World Citizens of tomorrow.

When the people in power pretend to be powerless to stop the machine leading us to SLAVERY, there are no peaceful means left to stop it.

Speaking as a Christian, this has all the proper ear-marks of the world take-over by the Anti-Christ prophesied in the Bible.  I could never understand how people could be so stupid to be taken in by it.

Now I do.

For a while, it is going to be A NEW DARK AGE.

"Humanism is not new. It is, in fact, man's second oldest faith.  Its promise was whispered in the first days of the Creation under the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil: 'Ye shall be as gods'"- Whittaker Chambers

John Adams advised: "Statesmen...may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand.... The only foundation of a free Constitution, is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People, in a great Measure, than they have it now, They may change their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty."

"When you are morally disordered, you eventually get into the situation where you must sacrifice your liberty for the sake of order. No free society can survive when it has lost its self-control, its self- discipline, and the foundation of real authority in that society. And the Declaration states for us that foundation: our freedom comes from God; it must be respected out of respect for the authority of God." - Alan Keyes

"I have heard . . . that people may become dependent on us for food. I know that was not supposed to be good news. To me that was good news, because before people can do anything they have got to eat. And if you are looking for a way to get people to lean on you and to be dependent on you, in terms of their cooperation with you, it seems to me that food dependence would be terrific."- Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, in naming P.L. 480 the "Food for Peace" program, Wall Street Journal, May 7, 1982.

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' interests, I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can." --Sen. Barry Goldwater

"I have spent all my life under a Communist regime, and I will tell you that a society without any objective legal scale is a terrible one indeed. But a society with no other scale but the legal one is not quite worthy of man either." --Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Any society that hopes to survive as a free society has to have a moral code that the vast majority of citizens embrace. It is naive to say that everyone is able to do whatever is right in his or her own eyes and then be astonished by the moral chaos that follows. The death of a common morality threatens our very liberty, because without individual conscience, society cannot be held in check except through coercion.

But even coercion ultimately fails. There is no police force large enough to keep an eye on every individual. "This country ought to have, when it is healthy and when it is working as it is intended to work, 250 million policemen -- called conscience," says Michael Novak. "When there are 250 million consciences on guard, it's surprising how few police are needed on the streets." -- Charles Colson

"...how easy it was to present an appearance of orthodoxy while having no grasp whatever of what orthodoxy meant....the world view of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening. By lack of understanding they remained sane...." --George Orwell's 1984
