NEW TIMES, SAME OLD ENEMY

11-29-2000

I believe if the past 27 years and the past 8 years particularly, have taught us anything- it would be that "compromising" with the liberal social engineers really means "letting them have their way". With Gore now trying to sue his way into the White House, it definitely should be a "wake up call" to conservative, Christians, and all men who will be free.

I have been thinking about Winston Churchill's speeches lately. I really believe we are fighting the same enemy, this time under a new guise.

On May 13, 1940: Churchill makes his first speech as Prime Minister- "You ask 'what is our policy?' I will say it is to wage war by sea, land and air, with all our might, and with all the strength that God can give us - to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime.' That is our policy."

Or how about June 4, 1940: The famous "Fight on the Beaches" speech delivered before the House of Commons- "We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!"

Or in his June 17th 1940 Broadcast Broadcast to the Nation famous as the "Finest Hour" speech; "Remember - the enemy is crafty, cunning, and full of novel treacheries and stratagems.".

"There is no dirty trick he will not do.".

"...if we fail, then the whole world - including the United States - including all that we have known and cared for - will sink into the abyss of a new 'Dark Age', made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science.".

Churchill was fighting a real war against a political menace. How much less formidable and dangerous enemy are we facing today, right here in the "Good Ole USA"?

A parting shot from Churchill- June 30th, 1943 Speech "those that sowed the wind are reaping the whirlwind".
