OK, fine. I recognize that some folks, especially the very young parent, are completely incompetent and have no business having a demanding baby to take care of. With today's society being the ungodly mess it is, we have thousands of mal-educated kids who have dropped out of the system and immersed themselves in the hopeless pop culture of kids. They have never been taught life's' #1 basic skill, and that is how to feed yourself. With the "education" they have gotten, they certainly ARE going to keep up on the sex as hard as they can. So we have a generation of restaurant dumpster divers having babies. Good God. Third World life.
This is the goal of the Secular Humanist public education system, and it is a raging success. The outcome couldn't possibly produce anything else but immorality, incompetence, helplessness, and hopelessness. Way to go John Dewey (See From Traditional Education to "Progressive" Education and see Humanist Manifesto I). Into these hopeless scenarios are born innocent little human beings. I think these are the people governments are imagining the Safe Harbor laws to be for. So far as I know (and I do watch a LOT of Animal Planet), human beings are the only mammals who deliberately kill their young or assist a predator who IS going to kill her young. I grew up on a ranch. We had primarily beef cattle. Growing up out in the fields, woods, and steep canyon-sides, I observed a lot of "natural life". MOST mothers in the animal world have a "mothering instinct". Some animal mothers intend to KILL you if you mess with their babies. Even the cowardly deer hides their fawn and do their best to attract your attention away from the fawn. Birds put on a "broken wing" act to lure predators away from their hidden nests.
Only a human female goes to a predator to dig up inside her to tear out and murder her unborn baby. Only a human female goes into a murderous rage and kills her young. In the "natural order" (cave man), a "mentally defective" female would eliminate the "defect" from the gene pool. There shortly wouldn't be anymore of this "defect". I think this sort of selfishness can only be learned. I completely doubt it's natural. Only "civilization" and "culture" could foster this sort of murderous rebellion against motherhood. In cultures that respect, elevate, and glorify motherhood, there's not much, IF ANY infanticide. Certainly not the plague that is happening in "modern" westernized cultures where motherhood is disparaged. So far as that goes, HAVING CHILDREN AT ALL is mocked. Only SEX is glorified. Witness the plague of Viagra, Cialis, and Trojan commercials on TV. I am not going to start on this culture's attitude about FATHERHOOD. The point I intended to make in this essay is this: Now, all fifty states (Not in D.C.) in the United States uniformly offer "Confidential Safe Haven Relinquishment " of children. Which means that a mother can drop off her INFANT at any clinic, hospital, fire department (or other designated Safe Haven locations) without fear of prosecution or loss of confidentiality. There is a TWENTY-ONE day limit from time of birth. What's up with that? The limit should be increased to 17 years and 364 days. No, I'm not trying to be funny. I am as serious as a heart attack. If a kid raised up in this poison pop culture turns into a raging thug, the disenfranchised and powerless parents should be able to just put him or her out of the house without fear of prosecution.
