Words Have Meaning

A gospel I preach often is- words mean something.

For those of you who read my "scribbles", you know that I haven't started a new essay for just any vague, ethereal reason.  Yes, I do have a burr under my tail.

This one is the word PROGRESS, and especially it's form PROGRESSIVE.

The word means a number of different things, many with a good connotation. But lately, it seems (at least to me anyway), they are only POLITICAL words.  Politicians, candidates for office, media, and other talking heads toss the word "progress" around like Badminton Birds.

We are really talking about Progressivism.

... by definition progressivism aims to achieve gradual social change, and most progressives are outright opposed to any form of violent revolution. When the progressive movement split on economic principles, some progressives moved towards the socialist camp, advocating a planned economy. Other progressives moved towards the regulated mixed economy camp, with both public and private ownership of companies. Between these two extremes is social democracy (not a term in popular U.S. usage), a branch of socialism that became increasingly moderate and moved towards the political center. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressivism

So here's the pitiful part- Mass man thinks government "progress" and "progressive" legislation means good things for us, the little people.

Under the principle of ruthless individualism and competition, that government is deemed best which offers to the few the greatest chance of individual gain.

Under the progressive principle of cooperation, that government is deemed best which offers to the many the highest level of average happiness and well being.

It is our faith that we all go up or down together--that class gains are temporary delusions and that eternal laws of compensation make every man his brother's keeper. - Progressive Party Platform, 1924

See anything "not so good" about that?

Where did all these "bright ideas" come from?

Manifesto of the Communist Party

Key points- http://revolution2.us/content/docs/history/big_picture/1848.htm

When I hear words with "progress" mixed up in it, I am not deceived.

There was nothing wrong with this country upon it's founding-

"A republic, if you can keep it." - Ben Franklin

- and all the "progress" is about turning the US into a "democracy" which is rule by the public opinion of an incited mob.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can exist only until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, always to be followed by a dictatorship." -Authorship unknown (which does not make the words and conclusions untrue)

It's portrayed as a battle between producers and consumers.  In short, free individuals producing food, fiber, industrial goods- and making a living from it- even better living for creating highly desirable items- SHOULD NOT.  In the liberal, progressive, secular humanist, social democrat, communist view, the consumer SHOULD NOT have to pay for it.

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." -Karl Marx

World government is where we are "progressing".  The "Global Warming" thing has run it's course and the "incited mob" did their best to sell us out. Global warming- An excellent example of the power of highly intelligent, motivated, ignorant people.  Now we are heading into a GLOBAL COOLING period- AGAIN.  See National Geographic November 1976 issue about global COOLING

World government and loss of our personal sovereignty is not the "cure" for that either.

There is nothing good about political "progress".  It is pure evil.

I would like to put the Constitution back as the highest law in the land and UNDO all the mess of the past 100 years of so-called "progress" .  A lot of us are ALREADY at a level of average happiness and well being with the rest of the third world countries.

"It is the absolute DUTY of every generation, above EVERY other thing they may think important; to pass on to their children and their posterity, clean limited constitutional government and NO DEBT"-- Roger Weidner

That would be real progress.

By the way, the word "sovereignty" means more than you think it does. But I will leave that a subject for your own research.

"I believe that if the people of this nation fully understood what Congress has done to them over the last 49 years, they would move on Washington; they would not wait for an election... It adds up to a preconceived plan to destroy the economic and social independence of the United States!" -George W. Malone (1890-1961) U.S. Senator (Nevada) 1957 Source: speaking before Congress
And he said that exactly 50 years ago.

"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.'' - J. Edgar Hoover Source: speaking of communism (1956)

"We have restricted credit, we have restricted opportunity, we have controlled development, and we have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world--no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men." - Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924) 28th US President 1913 Source: in his book, The New Freedom: A Call For the Emancipation of the Generous Energies of a People, chapter 9
He ought to know, because that's exactly what he did.

The ultimate initiator of a Communist USA was none other than President Woodrow Wilson. He was pure evil with a PhD.

He rammed through the FED, income tax, the League of Nations that turned into the UN, the beginning of a mass of new bureaucracies, and the idea that the Constitution is a "living document" to be interpreted by liberal whimsey. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodrow_Wilson)

All done highly against the will of the people. - See Declaration of Independence

That is what the word PROGRESS means when a politician/ candidate says it.

Nobody has UNDONE any of it in almost 100 years of suffering because of it. That's what is wrong with America and that's why we are in so much trouble.

Who will tear any of this evil cancer out and go back to the Constitution AS WRITTEN? (http://revolution2.us/politics/ron_paul/if_we_stuck_to_the_constitution.htm)

WORDS MEAN SOMETHING.  Unless people UNDERSTAND what the politician /candidate is really SAYING, we will go down the golden path with flowery words blazing the way.

I wish I'd have gone to Canada in '69.  Now I am vested in this sorry system on disability with both lungs full of asbestosis, and living 50% below the poverty line.  I still hear the no-fault divorce judge in 1985- "Mr Henderson can start over again".  Actually no, my health crashed 4 years later.  I have outlived the 10 years they said I would live- which is the real problem, isn't it?  The tenth year, 1999, was when CPS blessed my life.  Maybe I am still alive because I am still so pissed off about it.
